The first episode of Dragon Ball DAIMA, “Conspiracy,” introduces four new named characters: Gomah, Degesu, Dr. Arinsu, and Neva. Glorio is a new character in the series, but he is not part of the episode-one roster.
Who are the new characters in DAIMA episode 1?
The episode-specific recap identifies four new characters in “Conspiracy.” The first three also have official character notices and Japanese voice credits; the recap introduces Neva in the episode’s Demon Realm plot.
| Character | What episode 1 establishes | Japanese voice credit |
|---|---|---|
| Gomah | A new Demon Realm ruler at the center of a conspiracy. He wants to prevent Earth’s fighters from becoming a threat. | Showtaro Morikubo, according to the Dragon Ball Official Site’s October 9, 2024 character announcement. |
| Degesu | Gomah’s associate and Dr. Arinsu’s younger brother. | Junya Enoki, according to the Dragon Ball Official Site’s October 9, 2024 character announcement. |
| Dr. Arinsu | Degesu’s older sister. Her warning helps set Gomah’s conspiracy in motion. | Yoko Hikasa, according to the Dragon Ball Official Site’s October 9, 2024 character announcement. |
| Neva | An elderly Namekian whom Gomah recruits for his knowledge of Dragon Balls. The episode recap connects him with the Demon Realm’s Dragon Balls and their guardians. | No voice actor credit is confirmed in the sources cited here. |
Why Glorio is not on the episode-one list
Glorio is part of DAIMA’s new cast, but series-wide descriptions do not establish that he appears in the premiere. Toei Animation describes a mysterious young Majin named Glorio appearing before Goku and company, and the official New York Comic Con report names Aaron Dismuke as his English voice actor. The episode-one recap, however, identifies the second episode as “Glorio.” For a list limited to characters introduced in “Conspiracy,” he belongs outside the roster.
Who returns from earlier Dragon Ball stories?
Goku and his companions are returning characters, not new introductions. Their sudden change in size is part of DAIMA’s premise, but a transformation does not make a familiar character newly introduced. Toei’s official catalog describes the group as living peacefully before a conspiracy suddenly makes them small.

Premiere release context
The original subtitled Crunchyroll launch was October 11, 2024, in the territories listed in the Toei Animation USA and Crunchyroll release notice; the announcement described a weekly subtitled simulcast. A separate English-dub theatrical event in the United States and Canada ran November 10–12, 2024, and presented episodes 1–3, according to the Dragon Ball Official Site’s October 24, 2024 announcement. Those are different release events, so the theatrical dub dates should not be mistaken for the series’ original premiere date.
Toei credits Akira Toriyama with the original work, story, and character design. The Dragon Ball Official Site announced the designs and Japanese cast for Gomah, Degesu, and Dr. Arinsu on October 9, 2024. The episode-specific character details above follow the Crunchyroll episode-one recap; series premise and platform information appear in Toei Animation’s DAIMA catalog and the official DAIMA site.
