The season table is reconstructed from the historical season lineup and chronology on the series history page. Peacock’s season 20 guide and current series listing corroborate the recent panels: its season 20 guide and current AGT page. The season 21 panel above is the announced cast, not a claim that every judge appeared in every live round.
How the hosts changed
Regis Philbin hosted the first season. Jerry Springer took over for seasons 2 and 3, followed by Nick Cannon, who hosted seasons 4 through 11. Tyra Banks hosted seasons 12 and 13. Terry Crews began in season 14 and was listed as host for season 21. Cannon and Crews each had eight main-series seasons as host by season 21.

The recent panel
Season 15 introduced the panel combination of Cowell, Klum, Sofía Vergara, and Mandel. That lineup continued through season 19. Mel B returned in season 20, replacing Klum, and remained in the announced season 21 panel. Peacock described Mandel’s season 20 appearance as his 16th season as a judge; the series history identifies him as AGT’s longest-serving judge.
Regular judges versus guest substitutions
A season’s regular panel does not guarantee that every judge appeared in every episode. In season 15, Eric Stonestreet filled in for Klum during some auditions, and Cowell missed later live shows after a back injury. In 2026, Cowell missed several live rounds; Kenan Thompson, Heidi Klum, and KSI filled in as guest judges at different rounds. Those episode-level substitutions do not change the season’s announced regular lineup.
