EVA, a Nashville-based platform that connects event organizers with performers, raised $2 million in a round valuing the company at $15 million, TechCrunch reported on September 26, 2024. The company said the round brought in more than twice its fundraising target. Its planned expansion into New York City and Los Angeles later became two announced launches: New York in December 2024 and Los Angeles in June 2025. Those announcements confirm the launches, but do not establish EVA’s full footprint today.
What is EVA?
EVA is an entertainment booking and event-coordination platform, not a physical product. It connects organizers with local performers for corporate occasions, private parties, public and college events, festivals, and weddings. TechCrunch described the company as Nashville-based when it covered the funding round in September 2024.
How does EVA’s booking process work?
- The organizer submits event details. In the workflow described by TechCrunch in September 2024, a planner enters the event’s location, date, attendance, budget, duration, equipment needs, and attire expectations.
- Performers apply and EVA recommends matches. EVA’s matching algorithm suggests talent for the event. Organizers can review performer profiles before choosing whom to book. The company required performers to submit professional video before acceptance, according to the same report.
- The parties coordinate and complete payment. TechCrunch said EVA provided performance contracts and event insurance, and that its Teams hub supported collaboration and invoice management. The article described a payment schedule with half the deposit paid before the event and the remaining amount due at least a week before it.
The platform’s reported fees and transaction figures are historical, not verified current terms. In September 2024, TechCrunch reported a $400 minimum booking fee, a typical transaction range of $600 to $7,500, and a 20% service fee charged to organizers on booked events. Organizers should check EVA’s current terms for applicable prices, payment timing, and coverage.
How much did EVA raise, and who invested?
TechCrunch reported that EVA raised $2 million in a round valuing the company at $15 million in September 2024. EVA said the round exceeded twice its fundraising target. Investors named in the report included Songfinch founders John Williamson, Josh Kaplan, Scott Kitun, and Robert Lindquist; Justin Kalifowitz of Downtown Music Holdings; Cascade Seed Fund; and Stout Street Capital, among others.

The funding article also reported company figures of more than 2,500 entertainers on the platform and $6 million earned collectively by artists over four years. These were figures attributed to EVA in September 2024, not independently audited counts. Separately, in its December 2024 New York launch announcement, EVA said it had paid performers more than $6 million since 2019; that claim uses a different time window and should not be combined with the earlier four-year figure.
Which cities did EVA expand to?
When TechCrunch reported the funding in September 2024, EVA operated in seven markets: Atlanta, Austin, Dallas, Chicago, Charlotte, Nashville, and New Orleans. The company planned to enter New York City in early December, followed by Los Angeles. It subsequently announced both launches:

EVA also said in its June 2025 Los Angeles announcement that it had booked more than 2,000 events across eight markets. The company’s launch releases establish that New York and Los Angeles were announced as markets; they do not verify its complete operating footprint, city availability, or roster size in 2026.
What do the funding and expansion mean for performers and event planners?
The reported round gave EVA capital to pursue geographic growth, while the platform’s workflow addressed several practical steps involved in booking live entertainment: describing an event, finding and reviewing talent, coordinating details, and handling contracts and invoices. For performers, the company’s stated aim was to provide access to paid event work. TechCrunch quoted Nashville singer-songwriter and EVA performer Tabitha Meeks describing the effect on her ability to build a future and save money; that is her personal account, not evidence of typical performer earnings.

EVA co-founder Makenzie Stokel told TechCrunch: “We carry a blanket, general liability, and professional liability insurance policy for our entertainers and the corporate clients.” That statement describes the coverage EVA said it carried in 2024; it does not establish current policy terms or what a particular booking’s coverage includes. Organizers and performers should confirm coverage, contract terms, and responsibilities directly before an event.
