A February 2025 report described photographs of actor Eric Dane with his arm around Priya Jain during a short Los Angeles stroll after what the outlet called a casual date night. The report did not say when the walk took place, and its “date night” framing is not independent confirmation of the pair’s relationship.
What the February 2025 report said
Yahoo News UK published the matching story on February 7, 2025. It said PEOPLE had obtained photographs showing Dane with his arm around Jain during a brief stroll in Los Angeles. The story described them as appearing relaxed, but did not identify the date of the outing or include a statement from either person about it. Yahoo News UK’s February 7 report
The article also described Dane wearing a black zip-up jacket, T-shirt, jeans and baseball cap, and Jain wearing an oversized jacket, a red quilted leather purse and white pumps. These are the outlet’s descriptions of the photographs, not confirmed product identifications.
How the earlier sightings fit the timeline
The Yahoo story traced the first romance rumors to a sushi outing in West Hollywood in November 2024. Just Jared reported that Dane and Jain were seen at Sushi Park on November 7, and credited photographs of that sighting to Backgrid. Just Jared’s November 8, 2024 report

At the time, coverage did not establish that either person had publicly confirmed a relationship. Parade said in its November 8 article that neither Dane nor Jain had commented publicly on their relationship status. Parade’s November 8, 2024 report
What later coverage added—and what it did not establish
In June 2025, Us Weekly characterized Jain as Dane’s girlfriend and reported that she was blindsided by his later public appearance with Janell Shirtcliff. The account attributed relationship details to an unnamed source, rather than presenting a direct statement from Dane or Jain. Us Weekly’s June 24, 2025 report

Us Weekly reported on February 20, 2026, that Dane had died the previous day, February 19, at age 53, following ALS. The same report said he and Jain had reconnected as friends before his death, again attributing that relationship detail to a source. Us Weekly’s February 20, 2026 report
That later context makes the 2025 headline a historical celebrity-news item, not a current report about a couple. The photographs and the wording used by outlets document what was reported; they do not, on their own, verify private relationship status.
