Enid becomes an alpha werewolf when she transforms to save Wednesday, and the finale leaves her in wolf form. In the show’s lore, an alpha who transforms cannot return to human form and faces isolation and danger from other werewolves. Netflix has not confirmed how Enid’s story will resolve in Season 3.
How Enid becomes an alpha werewolf
Enid’s alpha status is established in Season 2, not just suggested by a fan theory. In Episode 6, she transforms without a full moon. Werewolf teacher Isadora Capri points to alpha markers: Enid is a late bloomer, and her first transformation happened during a blood moon. In Episode 8, Enid transforms again to save Wednesday from being buried alive.
That rescue comes at a cost. The finale leaves Enid in full wolf form, while Wednesday sets off with Uncle Fester to find her. Netflix’s Season 2 finale explainer, published September 8, 2025, frames the central question as whether Wednesday can save Enid.
What alpha status means in the show’s lore
Netflix Tudum describes alphas as powerful and feared by other werewolves. Co-showrunner Miles Millar says an alpha who has transformed cannot return to human form and is isolated and hunted to death by other werewolves. These are rules of Wednesday’s fictional world, not claims about real wolves or folklore.

Co-creator Alfred Gough calls the ability a “double-edged sword.” Enid had found a pack and a sense of belonging, but alpha status threatens to isolate her again. Gough put the conflict this way: “In Season 2 Enid becomes part of the pack. She has everything she wants. But then this new twist on her ability — it isolates her again.”
Why Enid’s transformation matters to her relationships
Her connection with Wednesday
Enid’s transformation is both an act of friendship and a sacrifice: she saves Wednesday, then faces a perilous existence in wolf form. Millar describes the friendship and sisterhood at the heart of the show as its “heart and soul,” and calls Enid’s choice a climactic moment in her character arc. Wednesday’s decision to search for her makes their bond central to what happens next, but it does not establish whether or how she will find Enid.

Her place in the pack
Enid’s new power could undo the belonging she worked to find. Gough says alphas are feared by other werewolves, while actor Emma Myers describes Enid as someone who already struggles to fit in: “Now she has to deal with potentially becoming a loner again.” Myers hopes the development brings Enid and Wednesday closer. That is an expressed hope, not confirmation of a Season 3 outcome.

Netflix Tudum’s September 30, 2026 update says production on Season 3 has wrapped. It gives no release date and no further plot details about Enid’s alpha storyline. Gough says the creators want to deepen the characters and expand the world of Nevermore and Wednesday; Millar has previewed more Addams family members and family secrets. These are broad aims, not a promise of a cure, a particular pack conflict, or a specific rescue.

Until Netflix or the showrunners announce more, theories about Enid returning to human form, controlling her powers, rejoining a pack, or facing new antagonists remain speculation.
