Among AP’s examples, Rhea Seehorn wore sparkly chartreuse, while Dominique Fishback wore a pale-blue Miu Miu halter gown with a plunging neckline and wide train. Joy Sunday paired optic-white trousers with an off-shoulder look and trailing panels. Issa Rae wore a champagne-colored, feathered, embellished tulle caftan by Pamella Roland, and Hannah Waddingham wore a pale-green sparkling custom Marchesa gown.
Classic references and tailored looks
Quinta Brunson wore a pink Dior couture look with a belt. AP also noted Tom Colicchio’s red velvet jacket, a tailored example amid the gowns and more dramatic silhouettes. Why the ceremony was held in January 2024
The 75th Primetime Emmy Awards were delayed by the Writers Guild of America and SAG-AFTRA strikes, moving the ceremony and carpet into January 2024. The awards retained the “2023” name because they recognized programming from the June 1, 2022–May 31, 2023 eligibility period. The Associated Press account and Vanity Fair’s event coverage describe the delay and carpet in that context.
