Eminem’s The Death of Slim Shady (Coup de Grâce) debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 in July 2024, displacing Taylor Swift’s The Tortured Poets Department after a reported 12-week run at the top. The chart listings attach different date labels: Billboard Canada lists the album first for the week of July 27, while Official Charts’ Billboard 200 page is labeled July 31–August 6.
Which album knocked Taylor Swift off No. 1?
It was The Death of Slim Shady (Coup de Grâce), Eminem’s album released July 12, 2024, according to Shady Records’ discography. Music Now’s July 2024 chart report says the debut ended Swift’s 12-week stretch at No. 1. That duration is attributed to the report; the full weekly sequence is not independently established here.

When did the album reach the top of the Billboard 200?
The Billboard Canada listing headed “The Billboard 200: Top albums for the week of 2024-07-27” places Eminem’s album at No. 1 for that chart week: Billboard Canada’s July 27 chart. Separately, the Official Charts page titled “Billboard 200 on 31/7/2024” lists the album at number one and labels its period July 31–August 6, 2024: Official Charts’ Billboard 200 page. These are the labels used by the respective pages, not interchangeable dates.
What does the Billboard 200 count?
The Billboard 200 is not simply a ranking of physical albums sold. Official Charts describes it as the United States’ main albums chart, compiled from U.S. sales and streams. Billboard Canada explains its listing as a blended consumption chart incorporating traditional album sales, track-equivalent albums and streaming-equivalent albums. The available sources do not establish a reliable debut-week equivalent-unit total or breakdown for Eminem’s album, so no unit figure should be inferred from its position.

How many No. 1 albums does Eminem have?
Music Now’s report calls this Eminem’s 11th number-one album. That chart achievement is distinct from the “12th studio album” description on Eminem’s official announcement, published July 11, 2024. The counts describe different things: one is a reported tally of albums reaching No. 1; the other is the artist’s studio-album sequence.
