What Eminem performed
In its September 12 recap, TIME reported that Eminem performed “Houdini” and “Somebody Save Me” with Jelly Roll. The opening began with dozens of look-alike Shadys, recalling Eminem’s 2000 VMAs performance. During “Somebody Save Me,” home movies of his children appeared on screen. TIME described the latter sequence as emotional; that is the publication’s assessment, not a measured audience response.
