Emails described in February 2026 reporting appear to place Sarah Ferguson and her daughters, Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie, at Jeffrey Epstein’s home on 27 July 2009, five days after his release from prison. One message attributed to Ferguson asks about an address and lunch; Epstein wrote to Ghislaine Maxwell the next day that “ferg and the two girls” had come the day before. The messages support the report of a visit, but do not establish what happened during any meeting.

What the reported emails say

The Independent reported that an email from a sender identified as “Sarah,” dated 27 July 2009, said: “What address shall we come to. It will be myself, Beatrice and Eugenie. Are we having lunch?” The following day, Epstein wrote to Maxwell: “ferg and the two girls come [sic] yesterday”. The Independent dates the reported visit to 27 July, five days after Epstein’s release from prison. The Independent’s account presents the exchange as evidence that Ferguson and her daughters visited.

Beatrice was 20 and Eugenie was 19 at the time, according to The Independent. They were adults, not young children.

What the travel correspondence adds

Sky News reported that an aide’s email on 24 July discussed travel arrangements from Heathrow for “the Duchess and the girls,” and that later correspondence described their arrival in Miami. Sky News says the flight emails indicate Epstein paid for the travel. That is the outlet’s inference from the correspondence, not a fact established here independently. Sky News’s report also gives ticket amounts, but those details do not independently establish what happened at a meeting.

What the emails do—and do not—establish

The reported exchange supports the claim that a visit involving Ferguson and her daughters was arranged and that Epstein later told Maxwell they had come the previous day. It is not a first-hand account of what took place. The Guardian reported that an August 2009 email appears to suggest a meeting, while noting that it has not been confirmed whether Ferguson visited Epstein while he was confined to his home. The Guardian’s account does not establish the circumstances or content of any meeting.

The distinction matters: an email can record what its sender said or believed without independently proving every detail of an event. The reporting does not establish what was said or done during the alleged visit, and the visit alone does not show criminal conduct by Ferguson or her daughters. Sky News likewise cautions that a person’s name appearing in the files does not by itself imply wrongdoing.

Wider context in the reported correspondence

The July messages sit within broader reporting about Ferguson’s communications with Epstein. ITV News reported that an August 2009 email included Ferguson calling him “the brother I have always wished for.” ITV News reported the wording. The Associated Press also covered that email language and reported that Sarah’s Trust announced it would close for the foreseeable future after the latest revelations. AP’s report provides that broader institutional context; it does not confirm the details of the July visit.

Sky News also reported that the files described a proposed Mothers Army business plan under which Epstein would hold 51% equity. The outlet said it was unclear whether Ferguson agreed to that arrangement, so the proposal should not be treated as a completed investment or ownership deal.

Was there a response to this specific allegation?

The February 2026 reports cited here do not provide a specific response from Ferguson or her representatives addressing the alleged 27 July visit. Comments reported about her broader association with Epstein are not a confirmation or denial of this particular claim. The accounts are based on emails described in coverage of a US Department of Justice document release; the underlying July email chain is not reproduced in the sources cited here.
