Electric Island was announced as a two-day festival at Cottesloe Beach on April 6–7, 2024. The added Saturday show featured Sonny Fodera, while Armand Van Helden headlined Sunday, according to PerthNow.
Why did Electric Island add a second day?
PerthNow reported on February 8, 2024, that organisers expanded the event after strong demand for the Sunday show. Damian Gelle, a promoter with T1000 Events, explained: “So we thought why not make a weekend out of it and do the Saturday as well with a completely fresh line-up,” according to the report.
The festival had made its Western Australian debut in 2023. PerthNow described that first edition as drawing “thousands” of dance and house music fans, but did not give an exact attendance figure. The event was presented as a coastal edition of Electric Gardens, which was scheduled for Sydney and Melbourne in March 2024.
Who headlined each day?
| Date | Headliner | Other acts named in PerthNow’s report |
|---|---|---|
| Saturday, April 6, 2024 | Sonny Fodera | Cristoph, Ferreck Dawn, Little Fritter, YORP DJs, and Sneaky Sound System |
| Sunday, April 7, 2024 | Armand Van Helden | Roger Sanchez, Franky Wah, Kristen Knight, and Sasha |
PerthNow described the Saturday bill as a completely fresh lineup, distinct from Sunday’s. The names above are the acts listed in its announcement report, not a claim about the final running order or who ultimately performed.
