Do Egypt and Mike have children?
They are parents to three daughters: Simone, Kendall and Harper. Simone is Mike’s daughter from a previous relationship. Egypt says she has been in Simone’s life since she was three and considers her one of her daughters. “You ask me, [I say] I have three daughters,” she told HGTV in its parenting profile.
How did their relationship become a television show?
During the pandemic, the couple worked from home while their children attended virtual school. They began posting humorous daily videos about the overlapping demands of work, parenting and marriage. Their management suggested developing a sizzle reel, and HGTV accepted the concept as the basis for Married to Real Estate. The show brings their professional partnership into the same frame as their family life; it grew out of sharing that everyday overlap, rather than from a renovation project alone. HGTV describes the show’s origin in its marriage advice and interview feature.
How do they describe making marriage and work last?
Egypt frames marriage as a daily choice to invest effort: “Every day, you gotta make a choice that this marriage counts, and our relationship is worth it, and so I’m going to put in the effort.” Mike emphasizes staying grounded regardless of television work: “First and foremost, we stay grounded with or without the shows regarding our marriage.”
Rank #2
The practical advice they share is less about a single formula than about making room for one another amid shared work and parenting. Egypt stresses recharging and taking care of personal well-being; Mike points to scheduling, teamwork and support from family and friends. As Egypt puts it, “It takes a village.”
