The Ed Force One Aviationtag keychain is a small collectible made from the original skin of Iron Maiden’s Boeing 747-400, not a flight-ready aircraft part. Aviationtag’s official listings for both the white and rivet-hole editions currently show “Sold Out”; a restock date is not established.
What “parts” are on sale?
They are wearable keychain or luggage tags cut from the Boeing 747’s outer skin and made into souvenirs. They are not engines, replacement parts, or components certified for aviation use. Aviationtag says the tags were made in its Cologne workshop. Aviationtag’s Iron Maiden collection
The source aircraft was Boeing 747-400 MSN 32868, registration TF-AAK. Iron Maiden used it as Ed Force One during the 2016 The Book of Souls world tour. Aviationtag’s white-edition listing says the aircraft was delivered to Air France in March 2003 as F-GITH, transferred to Air Atlanta Icelandic in 2015 as TF-AAK, later flew for Saudi Arabian Airlines, was retired in 2022, and decommissioned in 2024. Why the tag is connected to the 2016 tour
Ed Force One was the 747 Iron Maiden used to travel during the 2016 tour. Bruce Dickinson, the band’s frontman and the aircraft’s pilot, described the souvenir in the launch video as “a very small piece of a Boeing 747”—the plane he learned to fly to take Maiden around the world. Louder/Classic Rock reported that the aircraft was scrapped at Cotswold Airport in Kemble, Gloucestershire, and quoted Aviationtag CCO Tobias Richter saying the project had been in development for more than two years. Don’t confuse the tag with the Chile engine repair
The collectible sale is unrelated to Ed Force One’s 2016 Chile accident. In a contemporaneous account, Iron Maiden said both port-side engines needed replacement after the incident. The band described each engine as weighing 5,000 kg and costing around US$4 million; those are figures published by the band about the repair, not independently verified market values.
