Dylan Dreyer announced on July 18, 2025, that she and Brian Fichera had decided to separate a few months earlier. Dreyer said they intended to remain close friends and co-parent their three sons with love and respect. A divorce filing was reported in March 2026, but the reporting cited here does not confirm a final divorce judgment.
When did Dylan Dreyer and Brian Fichera separate?
Dreyer shared the news in an Instagram statement on July 18, 2025, saying that she and Fichera had made the decision “a few months ago.” The announcement came after their 12th wedding anniversary in October 2024. They married in October 2012. Us Weekly reported her announcement and marriage timeline.
Dreyer wrote that they “began as friends” and would “remain the closest of friends,” adding that they would continue to co-parent their three boys “with nothing but love and respect for one another.” The statement established the separation and her stated intentions; it did not explain what led to the decision.
Do Dylan Dreyer and Brian Fichera have children?
They have three sons: Calvin, Oliver and Russell. In November 2025, Dreyer described telling the boys, “Mommy and Daddy work better as friends than as husband and wife.” The Miami Herald also reported her account that Fichera was involved in morning school drop-offs and that they often had dinner together at that time. Those details describe the arrangements she discussed then, not necessarily their current routine. The Miami Herald reported her comments.

In a June 2026 interview, Dreyer said she and Fichera prioritized joy and mutual respect in co-parenting and attended their sons’ events together. She said, “I think our relationship is better with us not being married.” These are Dreyer’s descriptions of her own family’s experience, not a general claim about separation or co-parenting. TV Insider recapped her interview with Parents.
Did Dylan Dreyer and Brian Fichera file for divorce?
Entertainment reporting says Dreyer filed for divorce on March 10, 2026. That filing is a separate legal step from the separation she announced in July 2025. The published reporting cited here does not establish that a court entered a final divorce judgment, so the confirmed description is that they separated and a divorce filing was reported—not that they are legally divorced. Us Weekly reported the filing.

Why did Dylan Dreyer and Brian Fichera split?
No specific cause has been established in the public comments cited here. In March 2026, Dreyer spoke generally about accepting that something in a marriage could not be fixed and moving forward as friends. She did not identify the underlying issue. The Independent reported her remarks.
Reports about a missing wedding ring or a family move do not establish why the couple separated. An October 2025 report described Dreyer moving from a two-bedroom apartment after the family outgrew it, and noted that the sons had shared a triple bunk bed. That is household context, not evidence that the move caused or resulted from the separation. Today reported on the apartment move.
