Dimension 20’s “MSG takeover” was Dimension 20 Live: Gauntlet at the Garden, a one-night Madison Square Garden performance on January 24, 2025. The Intrepid Heroes returned to The Unsleeping City for a live one-shot; Dropout later released the recorded show and a separate behind-the-scenes extra.
What happened at Madison Square Garden?
Dropout announced the event on April 8, 2024, as a one-night live show scheduled for January 24, 2025, and said a recording would follow on Dropout. The performance took place at Madison Square Garden on the announced date. MSG’s event page is a historical listing, not a current ticket offer: Madison Square Garden’s event listing.
The official name was “Gauntlet at the Garden.” “MSG takeover” is shorthand for the scale and venue, not the event’s formal title. Dropout’s announcement named Brennan Lee Mulligan, Emily Axford, Ally Beardsley, Brian Murphy, Zac Oyama, Siobhan Thompson, and Lou Wilson. Its event announcement is available at Dropout’s trailer and announcement.
What story did the cast play?
The recorded performance is a one-shot that brings the Intrepid Heroes back to The Unsleeping City. Dropout describes it this way: “The Intrepid Heroes return to the Unsleeping City with this one-shot live from Madison Square Garden.” The premise makes this a return to an established Dimension 20 setting, rather than a new season presented as a live episode.

The extra’s title frames the story as Dimension 20’s journey to selling out Madison Square Garden, and Dropout describes it as a look at the path from The Dome to MSG. The title is not a verified attendance figure: the official material cited here does not establish a number for attendance or ticket sales.

MSG’s event page included arrival, entrance, and bag guidance for the January 24, 2025 show. Those details were specific to that performance. MSG notes that policies and requirements can change, so the old event page should not be used as guidance for another show.
