The closing reveal that Theodosia can shapeshift adds a new weapon to Valya’s quiet maneuvering.
Jen sees a pattern in the Sisters’ nightmares
Jen discovers that the other Sisters are having nightmares too. The realization gives her a way to reach Emeline before Emeline takes her own life: what Emeline is experiencing is not simply an isolated personal crisis. The episode makes the shared dreams a threat the Sisterhood must recognize, though it does not explain their full meaning.
Tula investigates by having acolytes take spice and draw images from their dreams. Their drawings include Shai-Hulud and blue eyes. Those images deepen the unease around the visions, but “Twice Born” leaves their precise significance unresolved.
Tula’s own dream is more personal. She dreams of killing Emeline, who knows about Tula’s crimes. The nightmare connects Tula’s concealed past to the danger inside the Sisterhood, without establishing whether the dream predicts an event or reflects Tula’s fear.

Valya’s Harkonnen ties complicate her position
Valya becomes the Harkonnens’ truthsayer, extending her influence in her family while she remains a powerful Sister. When she learns that Keiran and Horace are plotting against Javicco, she says she intends to save the Emperor and turn Keiran over. Her choice puts the Sisterhood’s interests and her family loyalties on a collision course.
Valya’s dealings with her brother Evgeny make that family conflict more brutal. Evgeny accuses her of warping her siblings; when he criticizes her weakness, she withholds his respirator, killing him. The act shows how far Valya will go to enforce her will within her own family.

Harrow and Ynez bring the crisis into the Landsraad
The Sisterhood tells several Houses that Desmond killed Pruwet. The Houses invite Harrow to replace the departed Richeses on the High Council and investigate the murder. Natalya says she leaked the truth so Javicco could prosecute people abusing thinking machines.
At Division, Ynez remembers that Vorian refused the throne. She tells Keiran that Desmond is guilty and volunteers to act. Later, Harrow tells the Landsraad that kanly has been violated and nearly names the Corrinos. Ynez interrupts that accusation by naming Desmond instead.

Desmond turns an assassination plot into a demonstration of power
Keiran and Horace obtain an Ixian flying thermal bomb for their plot against Javicco and tell Mikaela. Desmond unsuccessfully urges the Emperor to remove the Landsraad’s truthsayers. Valya learns of the conspirators’ plan and says she intends to save Javicco, but the attempt to attack the Emperor ends on Desmond’s terms.
Desmond brings Horace into the political confrontation bound. He accepts the accusation that he killed Pruwet, but calls the killing a legal execution and displays the bomb. Javicco allows Desmond to immolate Horace and the other conspirators. What began as an insurgent plan against the Emperor becomes a public display of Desmond’s influence over him.

What “Twice Born” leaves unresolved
The episode’s four strands each raise a different kind of threat: the Sisters’ shared nightmares challenge their ability to understand what is happening to them; the Landsraad dispute tests Javicco’s authority; the bomb plot exposes the danger of insurgency; and Theodosia’s reveal shows that the Sisterhood has hidden tools of its own. The dream imagery and the future use of Desmond’s blood are not explained here.
Dune: Prophecy is set roughly 10,000 years before the events of Dune and explores the origins of the Sisterhood later known as the Bene Gesserit. It draws on the Great Schools of Dune trilogy, but “Twice Born” should not be treated as a direct adaptation of a particular book in that series.
