What happened before the funeral?
In a report published July 7, 2024, The Jasmine Brand described a video in which a man claiming to be Keke Jabbar’s uncle addressed castmates from OWN’s Love & Marriage: Huntsville. He asked them not to attend her funeral, saying, “We ask you, do not attend no service for my niece…” The Jasmine Brand’s report attributed the request and accusations to the speaker.

The report did not independently establish the man’s identity or show that Jabbar’s wider family endorsed his request. His accusation that castmates alienated her and affected her mental stability should therefore be understood as his claim, not as a verified account of events.
What did Jabbar’s family say?
TV Insider reported on July 3, 2024, that Jabbar, 42, had died. The outlet said social-media personality Marcella Speaks read a statement from Jabbar’s family announcing her death and asking for respect and privacy. The statement described Jabbar as a mother, sister, and friend. TV Insider’s report does not make the later comments attributed to the man claiming to be her uncle a statement on behalf of the whole family.

The contemporaneous reports establish that a man who said he was Jabbar’s uncle publicly asked castmates not to attend and accused some of them of harming her mental stability. They do not independently verify his identity, substantiate those accusations, or establish that the reality series caused Jabbar’s death. The family’s reported announcement instead asked for respect and privacy.
