Drake’s Brisbane and Sydney concerts on the Anita Max Win Tour were first postponed in February 2025 and then officially cancelled in July. The initial statement cited a scheduling conflict; the later notice said it had not been possible to reschedule the shows within the necessary timeframe and that ticketholders would be refunded.
What happened to the Brisbane and Sydney shows?
The Brisbane performance was scheduled for 4 March 2025 at Brisbane Entertainment Centre, and the Sydney performance for 7 March 2025 at Qudos Bank Arena. Both were among four remaining Australia and New Zealand dates that Drake’s representative announced as postponed on 26 February 2025. The other two affected dates were in Auckland. ABC News / Double J reported the postponement; Rolling Stone AU/NZ reproduced the representative’s statement.
How did postponement become cancellation?
26 February: the shows were postponed
The representative attributed the change to a “scheduling conflict” and said the team was working on rescheduling and adding shows. At that point, the dates had not been described as cancelled: affected tickets were to remain valid for replacement dates, with refunds available to people who preferred them. The announcement said four of the tour’s 16 sold-out Australia and New Zealand shows would be postponed.
29 July: the postponed dates were cancelled
In July, Live Nation Australia’s notice confirmed that the postponed dates would not go ahead. As reproduced by The Music on 29 July 2025, it said: “Despite extensive efforts to find a solution, rescheduling within the necessary timeframe was not possible.” The final cancellation covered the four postponed dates—Brisbane, Sydney and two Auckland performances—not just the two Australian shows.

What should Brisbane and Sydney ticketholders know about refunds?
The July cancellation notice said ticketholders would be refunded. The published reports do not establish whether an individual refund has been processed, how long it may take, or what steps apply to a particular purchase. Check the relevant ticketing account or contact its official support channel for the status of your tickets and refund; no specific deadline or processing method was stated in the cancellation notice.
Was a more specific reason given?
No. The February explanation was a scheduling conflict. The July notice explained that rescheduling within the necessary timeframe was not possible, but did not disclose further details. The available reporting does not support a more specific cause for either the postponement or the cancellation.
