So the short answer to “How did guy become a meme already?” is that an unnamed, newly revealed protagonist was an easy target for playful guesses. None of those nicknames or theories establishes the character’s canonical identity or lore.
What is the game called now?
Bandai Namco announced the project as Dragon Ball Game Project “AGE 1000” on January 26, 2026, after it appeared at the Dragon Ball Genkidamatsuri event the previous day. The announcement introduced a new Dragon Ball world and original characters designed by Akira Toriyama, with a 2027 target. Bandai Namco’s announcement used AGE 1000 as the project label.

By its June 23, 2026 update, the Dragon Ball Official Site identified the game as Dragon Ball Xenoverse 3. AGE 1000 is the setting and the earlier project name; Xenoverse 3 is the current official game title.
What is confirmed about the protagonist?
The official description says the player arrives in AGE 1000 from another era without apparent recollection of their identity. The protagonist attends West City University and joins the Great Saiya Squad. The reviewed official material describes the character as the player protagonist but does not provide a personal name.

The same update introduces supporting characters Brett, Tap, ROM, and Lilica. Brett is described as an aspiring hero and friendly rival who sees the protagonist as someone he can teach. That setup gives the story a clear starting point, but it does not confirm fan guesses about the protagonist’s name or powers.
What platforms and release timing have been announced?
Toei Animation describes Xenoverse 3 as a story-driven RPG set in West City in AGE 1000, with a 2027 release plan for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, and PC. A planned year is not a guaranteed release date, and the announcement does not list a Nintendo Switch version.

Are the reveal’s visuals final?
No. The official Dragon Ball update says the game’s audio and visuals remain under development and may differ from the final version. The reveal can introduce the world and characters, but its presentation should not be treated as a definitive view of finished graphics or gameplay.
