Spoilers for Dragon Ball DAIMA episode 7. Officially titled “Collar,” episode 7 puts Goku’s easygoing humor beside a more unsettling story: Panzy is being tracked through a magic collar forced around her neck. Shin explains the collar’s history and destroys it, giving the episode’s adventure a clear thread of coercion and release. That contrast supports a darker reading of this chapter, without establishing a series-wide tonal shift.

What is Dragon Ball DAIMA episode 7 called, and when was it released?

Episode 7 is officially titled “Collar.” Crunchyroll lists its release date as November 22, 2024. The title is apt: Panzy’s collar is central to the danger that finds the group and to the episode’s emotional turning point.

It is not the episode “Thieves”: that is episode 9, according to the episode listings from Google Play. Crunchyroll’s episode page gives the official number, title, and release date.

What happens in “Collar”?

Bulma cannot get the group’s ship airborne because a necessary element is missing. Hybis arrives with a summons from King Kadan, while Goku and Panzy travel together. Panzy asks Goku how he managed to raise a child. His answer, as reported in Daniel Dockery’s Crunchyroll News recap, is: “I wasn’t really involved.” The self-deprecating joke is characteristically casual—and a sharp contrast with the danger that follows.

The Gendarmerie intercept the group’s aircraft. Panzy suspects they have found them because of the magic collar forced on her. The group fights back, but their aircraft is damaged, so they take a Gendarmerie ship instead.

Shin identifies the collar’s material as Katchintite. He explains that many Majin were forced to wear collars when Dabura was Supreme King and suspects his sister, Arinsu, made them. Shin destroys Panzy’s collar. She is overjoyed to feel free and calls Shin by his Glind name, Nahare.

The group then contacts Panzy’s friend Peral to get the ship’s pin number. They learn that Hybis and Goku’s other friends are in the Third Demon World. After landing near the first Demon World Dragon Ball, they encounter Tamagami Number Three. The episode ends with Goku preparing to challenge the guardian.

Why does the collar make the episode feel darker?

It turns pursuit into a story about control

The collar is more than a clue to how the Gendarmerie locate Panzy. Shin’s explanation connects it to the forced restraint of many Majin, giving the object a history of coercion. The episode therefore makes Panzy’s danger personal: she is not merely being pursued, but tracked through something imposed on her.

Panzy’s freedom gives the conflict an emotional payoff

Destroying the collar changes the meaning of the moment from escape alone to release. Panzy’s joy makes that shift explicit. The scene gives the episode a serious oppression-and-freedom thread even as the wider journey continues toward another Dragon Ball challenge.

Goku’s humor keeps the tone from becoming uniformly grim

Goku’s “I wasn’t really involved” response is comic and self-deprecating. Set beside Panzy’s forced collar and the Gendarmerie pursuit, it creates tonal contrast rather than a straightforward move into darkness. “Darker side” is a reasonable interpretation of this episode’s mix of adventure, humor, and coercion—not an official declaration that the whole series has changed direction.
