The official site identifies Kuu as a new character created by Dr. Arinsu and Great Witch Marba; the Buu connection is a stylistic resemblance, not an established identity.
What happens in episode 10?
Episode 10 follows the setup at the end of episode 9, where Majin Kuu appears. In the episode 10 recap, Kuu challenges Tamagami Number One. The recap describes Kuu’s approach as comic or unruly in a way that recalls Kid Buu, but that is the recap writer’s comparison—not an official claim that Kid Buu is involved.

Is Majin Kuu the same as Kid Buu?
No. The official Dragon Ball site presents Majin Kuu as a new character created through Dr. Arinsu and Great Witch Marba’s research. The episode 10 recap’s comparison concerns Kuu’s fighting style; it does not establish that Kuu is Kid Buu, a reincarnation, or the original villain returned.
Why does the episode invite a Buu comparison?
The resemblance described in the recap is about how Kuu fights and comes across, rather than proof of a shared identity. There is also broader Buu imagery in DAIMA’s promotional history: the franchise’s official series announcement said its initial teaser showed a mysterious figure watching Goku battle Majin Buu. That marketing image establishes a Buu connection in the series’ imagery, but it does not identify Kuu or confirm a plot return in episode 10.
