Dragon Ball DAIMA episode 10, titled “Ocean” in English and “Unabara” in Japanese, gives Majin Kuu a failed test of strength while moving Goku’s group into the vast-ocean Second Demon World. The episode’s important shift is not a confirmed series-changing twist: it is the contrast between Kuu’s inability to claim a Dragon Ball and the travelers’ arrival in a new realm that opens a second story thread.
What happens in episode 10, “Ocean”?
The episode intercuts two developments. Majin Kuu challenges Tamagami Number One, while Goku and his companions reach the Second Demon World, a realm defined by its enormous ocean. That structure gives the installment two distinct kinds of forward motion: a contest with a clear immediate result and a change of setting that expands the travelers’ journey.

Why does Majin Kuu lose to Tamagami Number One?
Kuu’s unconventional movements do not make up for the opponent’s speed. The episode synopsis describes Kuu’s close-range attack failing and Tamagami Number One outpacing him. Kuu does not win the challenge or obtain the Dragon Ball.

The result gives the episode’s emphasis on Kuu’s disappointment a concrete basis: he has been introduced as a formidable creation, but this encounter shows that he cannot simply take the prize by force. Kuu was created by Dr. Arinsu and Great Witch Marba, and the official Dragon Ball announcement says he first appeared at the end of episode 9. The announcement also names Tomokazu Seki as his Japanese voice actor. Official Dragon Ball announcement about Majin Kuu.
What changes when Goku’s group reaches the Second Demon World?
The travelers’ arrival is the episode’s other consequential development. They enter a new realm whose defining feature is a vast ocean, shifting the immediate setting and giving the journey a fresh environment to contend with. Unlike Kuu’s duel, this thread does not resolve a contest; its function is to establish where the group is and set up the next stage of their travels.

Read together, the two threads make the episode a transition point: Kuu’s failed attempt leaves the Dragon Ball beyond his reach, while Goku’s group crosses into a new world. Calling these events “game-changing” is an interpretation, not an established audience consensus. Their significance lies in how they redirect the immediate story, rather than in a confirmed revelation that overturns everything viewers knew.
