Dorohedoro Season 2 was confirmed in production on January 9, 2024. Its official streaming premiere followed on April 1, 2026, at 23:00 JST; that date has now passed. The announcement came nearly four years after the anime’s 2020 debut, but the wait from confirmation to premiere was longer: a little over two years.
When did Dorohedoro Season 2 come out?
The official start date was April 1, 2026, at 23:00 Japan Standard Time. The official anime site said episodes would then arrive weekly on Wednesdays, with near-simultaneous worldwide availability. Its notice does not name the streaming platforms or confirm access in every territory, so viewers should check local services for current availability.

Who is returning for Season 2?
The January 2025 official update named Yuichiro Hayashi as director and MAPPA as the animation studio. In the same update, Hayashi wrote: 「皆さま大変長らくお待たせしてしまいましたが、アニメ「ドロヘドロ」ようやく戻ってきます！」 A translation is: “We have kept everyone waiting a very long time, but the Dorohedoro anime is finally coming back!”

What is Dorohedoro based on?
The anime adapts Dorohedoro, the manga by Q Hayashida. Crunchyroll’s January 9, 2024 report on the sequel announcement identifies VIZ as the manga’s English-language publisher. Readers who want the source material can look for the English edition through VIZ and book retailers; the streaming announcement itself does not identify a service carrying the anime.
