Spoilers for Invincible Seasons 2 and 3: No. Season 3 depicts Mark and Eve as a couple, not as the start of an affair. Their relationship grows out of the feelings revealed at the end of Season 2, and the Season 3 finale closes with them together.
What happens between Mark and Eve in Season 3?
Their romance is already underway when Season 3 begins. In Prime Video’s Season 3 episode guide, the synopsis for episode 5 says Mark and Eve start a business together. The season’s later episodes focus on escalating threats to Earth rather than presenting an Eve affair as part of the relationship arc.
After the season, creator Robert Kirkman and actor Gillian Jacobs described the finale’s closing beat as Mark and Eve going home together and sharing an intimate moment. They survive the Invincible War and Conquest, and the season ends with them in one another’s company. Jacobs also praised the series’ “emotional complexity” and its relationship scenes, calling the evolving connection between Invincible and Atom Eve fun to play in a TV Insider/Swooon interview.
That is the story the show establishes: Mark and Eve are together, and Season 3 does not establish that Eve cheats on him. The episode summaries are not exhaustive accounts of every scene, so this is a conclusion about what the released season depicts—not a claim that the show explicitly rules out every imaginable off-screen event.

How did Mark and Eve become a couple?
Their relationship develops over the first two seasons rather than appearing as a sudden Season 3 love triangle. Executive producer Simon Racioppa said the show had planted the connection earlier: “We set it up in season one subtly, but obviously Mark and Eve have always had feelings for each other at the very least, very good friends.” In the Bam Smack Pow interview, he discussed how the Season 2 finale brings those feelings into the open: Mark learns Eve has feelings for him and begins acting on his own.
Is the Rex and Eve cheating story the same thing?
No. The earlier cheating storyline involves Rex, Eve’s former boyfriend—not Mark. In a 2021 interview, Zazie Beetz discussed Rex cheating on Eve and their breakup; at that point in the story, Mark was dating Amber. That history is separate from Mark and Eve’s Season 3 relationship, as covered in TheWrap’s interview with Beetz.

Does Season 3 hint that Eve will cheat later?
No confirmed cheating plot is established by the available Season 3 comments. Kirkman has teased future conflict for Mark and Eve and described Season 4 as a point when they are at their closest, but he did not identify infidelity as that conflict. Treating a general tease as confirmation that Eve will cheat would go beyond what he said.
Meristation’s Season 3 episode guide describes the series as based on the comics, but the answer here concerns the television adaptation: its released third season shows Mark and Eve together, not an affair.
