In Searchlight Pictures’ Nightbitch, Amy Adams plays a mother who begins to suspect that she is turning into a dog. The official trailer presents that idea as a surreal part of the film’s story—not a literal claim about the actor. Searchlight’s promotional line sums up the premise: “Motherhood is a different beast.”
What happens in the Nightbitch trailer?
Adams plays a woman who pauses her career to stay home and care for her child. As the demands and isolation of domestic life build, her experience takes a surreal turn: she believes, or suspects, that she may be becoming a dog. The trailer sets up that unsettling premise while keeping the focus on a mother’s changing sense of herself.
