Doc Season 2 is confirmed and already released. FOX ordered 22 episodes on February 26, 2025, and the season premiered in the United States on September 23, 2025. FOX now lists Season 3 for September 22, 2026, so Season 2 is not an upcoming release.
Is Doc renewed for Season 2?
Yes. FOX announced a 22-episode second-season order on February 26, 2025. The renewal followed a strong launch: FOX said the series premiere had reached more than 16 million viewers across platforms, counting encores and viewing through February 19, 2025. FOX also described that figure as a 647% increase over its live-plus-same-day performance. These are launch-period figures reported in the renewal announcement, not current audience totals. FOX’s renewal announcement has the order and its dated audience figures.
When did Season 2 premiere?
The US broadcast premiere was Tuesday, September 23, 2025, at 9 p.m. ET/PT on FOX, following Murder in a Small Town. That was the announced original schedule, not a future date. FOX’s current show page lists Season 3’s premiere as September 22, 2026.
What is Season 2 about?

She is no longer Westside Hospital’s Chief of Internal Medicine; she has to return as an intern while facing the consequences of years she cannot remember and attempting to repair damaged relationships.

- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
FOX’s season setup begins with Amy’s past resurfacing as a desperate father makes a sacrifice to secure a heart transplant for his daughter. A subsequent high-stakes emergency puts a doctor’s life in danger. The opening premise introduces pressure on Amy and the hospital without resolving the season’s later story turns.
Who is Joan Ridley?
Felicity Huffman joins the cast as Dr. Joan Ridley, Amy’s former medical-school professor and mentor, who becomes Westside’s new Chief of Internal Medicine. FOX framed the question of whether Joan will help or hinder Amy as part of the pre-premiere setup; her motives should not be treated as settled from that description alone.
