Yes. Disney-owned channels returned to YouTube TV after Disney and Google reached a new multi-year distribution agreement on November 14, 2025. The restoration covered far more than Disney Channel: ABC, ESPN, FX, Freeform, National Geographic and related networks also began returning. Availability still depends on your YouTube TV plan and, for local ABC stations, your home ZIP code.
What happened to Disney channels on YouTube TV?
The previous Disney–YouTube TV carriage agreement expired on October 30, 2025. Disney-owned programming then disappeared from YouTube TV for more than two weeks, leaving subscribers without major sports, broadcast, news and entertainment networks.
On November 14, 2025, Disney and YouTube TV announced a new multi-year agreement. Disney said its full linear portfolio would be restored, while YouTube TV said the networks and local ABC stations would return as quickly as possible. The companies gave different explanations for the dispute: Disney said YouTube TV was seeking preferential pricing, while YouTube TV argued that Disney was using its ownership of competing services to strengthen its negotiating position. Those are competing claims; the confirmed facts are that the old agreement expired, the channels went dark, and a new agreement brought them back.
YouTube TV’s post-settlement update also said that previously saved recordings, personal preferences and recommendations would remain intact. That does not guarantee permanent access to every recording: later plan changes, local rights and on-demand licensing can still affect what you can watch.

Which Disney-owned channels returned?
The agreement restored Disney’s broad linear channel portfolio, subject to the plan and location limitations described below. Major returning networks include:
- ABC and participating local ABC affiliates
- ESPN, ESPN2, ESPN Deportes, ESPNU and ESPNEWS
- ACC Network and SEC Network
- Disney Channel, Disney Junior and Disney XD
- Freeform
- FX, FXM and FXX
- National Geographic, Nat Geo Wild and Nat Geo Mundo
Disney’s distribution announcement describes the restoration as covering all ESPN networks, ABC, Disney-branded channels, Freeform, FX Networks and National Geographic channels. The exact lineup visible in your account can differ because not every network is included in every YouTube TV plan.
Why might ABC still be missing?
ABC is not one identical nationwide channel in the way ESPN is. YouTube TV generally delivers the ABC affiliate serving your home television market, so the station available to you depends on your ZIP code and local rights.

Some subscribers could see ESPN and national cable networks return before their local ABC station appeared. If ABC is missing:
- Go to YouTube TV → Profile → Settings → Location and verify that your home ZIP code is correct.
- Open Live and search for “ABC” or the local station’s call sign.
- Check whether the result offers a live channel rather than only on-demand programs.
- If the affiliate is still absent with the correct home location, contact YouTube TV support.
YouTube TV’s network and location guide is the best place to verify which local stations and networks are available in a particular market.
What is the ESPN Unlimited benefit?
The agreement also included access to ESPN’s direct-to-consumer service, ESPN Unlimited, for eligible YouTube TV subscribers under the agreement’s terms. The benefit should not be confused with saying that every ESPN Unlimited feature is already built into the YouTube TV app.

YouTube TV’s current instructions tell eligible subscribers to connect their accounts through the ESPN app:

- Open the YouTube TV mobile app.
- Tap your profile image.
- Select Settings → Sports.
- Turn on Connect ESPN.
- Complete the account-linking prompts.
- Open the ESPN app and sign in.
YouTube TV documentation says direct ESPN Unlimited streaming inside the YouTube TV app is scheduled to begin in fall 2026. Until YouTube TV confirms that the integration is fully live, use the ESPN app-linking method described in its official help page.
Does every YouTube TV plan include every Disney network?
No. The existence of a Disney distribution agreement and your personal access to a particular channel are separate questions.

YouTube TV now offers different plan types, including its main plan and more focused sports, entertainment, news and family-oriented options. A genre plan may not include the same Disney lineup as the main plan. Plan availability can also differ when you subscribe through Google Play, a mobile carrier, an internet provider or another billing partner.
Before changing plans, check YouTube TV → Profile → Settings → Membership. Google warns that changing plans can affect both channel access and DVR availability. Recordings associated with channels removed from your new plan may become unavailable, although Google documents a recovery period if you upgrade again within the applicable window.

In the relevant app, choose YouTube TV as your television provider and sign in with the family manager’s credentials. This is a useful backup if a network is difficult to find in the YouTube TV interface, but app catalogs, live feeds, DVR recordings and on-demand rights are not necessarily identical across YouTube TV, ABC, DisneyNOW, Freeform and ESPN.

YouTube TV’s main plan was listed at $82.99 plus tax per month in Google’s help documentation accessed in August 2026. That price should not automatically be described as a surcharge caused by the Disney agreement; the available official information confirms the current price but does not establish that the deal directly caused it.
YouTube TV also offered a one-time $20 credit to eligible subscribers affected by the 2025 blackout. The claim deadline was December 9, 2025, so it is historical context rather than a current sign-up promotion.
What to do if a Disney channel is still missing
- Check your membership: Confirm that the missing network is included in your current plan.
- Verify your home location: This is especially important for ABC affiliates.
- Search directly: Look for the network name or local station call sign instead of relying only on a personalized guide.
- Update the app: Force-close YouTube TV, install available updates, restart your streaming device and sign in again. These are general troubleshooting steps, not a special Disney-restoration requirement.
- Try another device: Check tv.youtube.com or a phone. If the channel works there but not on your television, the issue is likely device or app state.
- Use network authentication: Try ABC, ESPN, DisneyNOW or Freeform with YouTube TV credentials where supported.
- Contact support: Escalate if your local ABC station is missing despite a correct location, or if YouTube TV lists a channel as available but provides only on-demand content.
Should you stay with YouTube TV?
YouTube TV remains a sensible choice for households that want a broad live-TV replacement, local broadcast stations, ESPN and Disney-owned networks in one service. Google lists unlimited DVR, up to six accounts and three simultaneous streams among its features.
It may be a weaker fit if you mainly want Disney+, Hulu or ESPN content and do not need a large live-channel package. A Disney streaming bundle can be more appropriate for a Disney-centered household, but it is not automatically equivalent to YouTube TV: it may not provide every linear Disney network, a local ABC affiliate, YouTube TV’s DVR experience or its broader live-TV lineup. Viewers focused mainly on sports can also examine YouTube TV’s separate Sports Plan information, while remembering that a sports-focused plan may omit Disney Channel, FX and other general-entertainment networks.
Using separate direct-to-consumer services can reduce dependence on a single carriage agreement, but it also means more apps, bills and authentication steps. The best choice depends on whether your priority is one broad live-TV service or a smaller Disney-focused combination.
