Disney+ Canada’s C$1.99-per-month deal for three months was real, but it was a limited-time promotion that ran from September 12 to September 27, 2024. It is no longer available. The offer covered the Standard With Ads plan for new and eligible returning subscribers—not the ad-free Standard or Premium tiers.
Current status: As of August 12, 2026, Disney+ Canada lists Standard With Ads at C$8.99 per month. The old C$1.99 offer does not appear on the current public pricing page. Eligible primary CIBC cardholders may have access to a separate Disney+ statement-credit offer, but it has different eligibility and billing requirements.
What the 2024 Disney+ Canada promotion included
From September 12 through September 27, 2024, Disney+ offered qualifying Canadian subscribers its Standard With Ads plan for C$1.99 per month for three months. MobileSyrup reported that the promotion was available to new and eligible returning subscribers. The report did not provide a complete definition of “eligible returning,” so it is not possible to confirm a specific inactivity period for former subscribers. The promotional subscription cost C$5.97 before taxes over the three-month period:

Why you cannot claim the C$1.99 offer now
The reported sign-up window ended on September 27, 2024. Disney+ Canada later reused the same C$1.99 price in a different promotion—this time for four months, from March 4 through March 30, 2025. That later campaign does not reopen or extend the original three-month offer.
Disney+ Canada also ran a separate Black Friday promotion from November 25 through December 1, 2025, offering Standard With Ads at C$3.99 per month for 12 months. These later campaigns show that Disney may bring back similar price points, but each promotion has its own dates, plan, eligibility rules and renewal terms. They should not be treated as evidence that the September 2024 offer remains active.
Likewise, a U.S. deal page describing a $1.99 offer is not proof of a current Canadian promotion. Canadian subscribers should rely on the Canadian Disney+ site or the terms attached to an offer shown during checkout.

What happened after the promotional period?
The historical report identifies the offer as a three-month introductory promotion. Readers should not assume that a promotional price becomes a permanent subscription rate. Disney+ subscriptions generally renew according to the applicable regular price and terms after a promotion, so anyone who signs up for a future offer should read the checkout disclosure and renewal date carefully.
The four-month Canadian C$1.99 campaign in March 2025 explicitly documented renewal at the regular price after the promotional period. That is evidence of how the later campaign worked, but the accessible reporting does not provide enough original terms to reconstruct every renewal condition of the September 2024 offer. The safe conclusion is that the 2024 C$1.99 rate was temporary and should not be presented as an ongoing plan.
A current Canadian alternative: CIBC’s Disney+ statement credit
Eligible primary CIBC cardholders may have a separate way to reduce the cost of a current Disney+ subscription. Under CIBC’s offer available from April 7, 2026, qualifying cardholders can receive a C$4.50 monthly statement credit for up to six consecutive months when they pay for an eligible monthly Disney+ subscription costing C$8.99 or more directly with an eligible CIBC credit card. That is a maximum of C$27 in statement credits, assuming all conditions are met.
This is not the old Disney+ C$1.99 promotion. The customer is charged the subscription price first, and CIBC says the credit is posted to the card account within 90 days after the month of the qualifying payment. Important CIBC conditions
- You must be an eligible primary CIBC cardholder; the offer is not a universal Disney+ discount.
- The subscription must be a qualifying monthly Disney+ subscription costing at least C$8.99.
- Annual plans are excluded.
- Payment must be made directly with the eligible CIBC credit card. Payments through Apple, Google, PayPal, mobile apps or other third-party platforms do not qualify under the stated terms.
- The offer generally requires a new Disney+ subscriber or someone who has not had a Disney+ subscription during the preceding 12 months, subject to the precise CIBC terms.
- The subscription price is charged before the statement credit arrives.
- After the six-credit period, the subscription continues at the then-current monthly price unless it is canceled.
CIBC has also advertised a separate C$95.94 promotional-code offer for up to six months of Disney+ Standard during a targeted July 14–August 13, 2026 offer period. Because that communication has different mechanics and appears targeted, it should not be merged with the general C$4.50 statement-credit offer or described as available to all CIBC customers.

- Open the official Canadian Disney+ pricing page.
- Confirm the country is Canada and check the displayed currency.
- Read the plan name carefully. Standard With Ads, Standard and Premium are different tiers.
- Check the offer’s end date, subscriber eligibility and whether taxes are excluded.
- Look for the post-promotion renewal price and the date on which regular billing begins.
- If using a bank or partner promotion, verify whether direct billing is required and whether annual plans or third-party payment systems are excluded.
- Save the confirmation email or terms, then cancel before renewal if you do not want the regular monthly charge.
Bottom line for Canadian subscribers
The headline is accurate only as a historical statement: Disney+ Canada did bring back C$1.99 per month for three months in September 2024. The deadline passed, and the current public Disney+ Canada price for Standard With Ads is C$8.99 per month. A qualifying CIBC cardholder may instead be able to receive C$4.50 monthly statement credits for up to six months, but that is a separate partner offer with its own restrictions—not a revival of the expired Disney+ promotion.
