Small Soldiers leaves the Gorgonites sailing off in search of their imagined home. Screenwriter Adam Rifkin later reportedly answered a fan’s question about whether they found it with a simple “Absolutely!”
What happens to the Gorgonites at the end of Small Soldiers?
In Joe Dante’s 1998 film, the Gorgonites set off in a remote-controlled boat, searching for Gorgon, the home world they believe they have identified. A picture of Yellowstone National Park leads them to mistake it for their distant destination, leaving their journey open when the film ends. Collider’s report, carried by IMDb, describes the ending and the Yellowstone connection.
What did Adam Rifkin say about their fate?
A fan asked Adam Rifkin, one of the film’s screenwriters, “Do you think the Gorgonites ever found Gorgon?” AlloCiné reports that Rifkin replied: “Absolutely!” The outlet dates the post to July 25, 2025.
Does that change the film’s ending?
No new scene is shown: the film still ends with the Gorgonites setting out, and the journey remains offscreen. Rifkin’s reported answer gives fans an affirmative interpretation of what happened afterward; it is not a sequel announcement or an onscreen continuation.
