Snoop ran the 200 meters during the 2024 U.S. Olympic Team Trials – Track & Field in Eugene. TIME’s interview identifies the Trials in Eugene on June 23 and includes Snoop saying, “I ran the 200 today.” Later, he gave his time as “34.44” seconds.
That 34.44-second figure is Snoop’s reported time in the interview, not a verified official meet result: the available reporting does not establish an official results listing for his exhibition run.
Was Snoop Dogg competing for an Olympic place?
No. The run was an exhibition, not an Olympic qualifying race. TIME presented it as something Snoop tried while participating in NBC’s Trials coverage and preparing for Paris. He described his approach this way: “There’s things that I’m going to try. And at the same time I respect the sport and I respect the Olympics.”

The distinction matters: running at the U.S. Trials did not mean Snoop qualified for, entered, or competed in the Paris Olympics.

The broadcaster said he would speak with host Mike Tirico, attend competitions, visit athletes and their families, and explore Paris landmarks. At NBC’s 2024 press conference, Snoop said, “I’m handling the track and field and other events.” He was describing his coverage assignment, not an athlete’s role.

NBCUniversal executive producer Molly Solomon said Snoop’s Tokyo 2020 dressage commentary highlights had generated “tens of millions of views” on Peacock. That is NBC’s qualitative description; the announcement did not give an exact count or explain a measurement method. In an Associated Press interview, Snoop described the appeal of his perspective: “We speak to a broader audience.”
