It is unclear whether Snoop Dogg apologized. Them and Rolling Stone reported an Instagram comment attributed to him that included “My bad,” but Fox News and Breitbart reported that a representative called the comment fake. The accounts do not establish whether the post was authentic.
What Snoop Dogg said about Lightyear
On the August 20, 2025, episode of the It’s Giving podcast, Snoop Dogg recounted taking his grandson to see Pixar’s 2022 film Lightyear, according to Them’s August 29, 2025 report. He said he was caught off guard when the child asked about the women in a same-sex couple and the child they were raising. The remarks drew criticism online.

Where the reported “My bad” came from
Them reported that a comment attributed to Snoop Dogg appeared on an August 27 Instagram post by Hollywood Unlocked about the controversy and T.S. Madison. Them quoted the purported comment as saying, “I was just caught off guard and had no answer for my grandsons,” followed by, “My bad for not knowing the answers for a 6 year old” and “Teach me how to learn. I’m not perfect.”
Rolling Stone Australia also reported the comment as his response. These outlets reported the wording as Snoop’s, but that attribution was subsequently disputed.

Why the apology is disputed
Fox News reported that a Snoop Dogg representative called the comment fake. Breitbart reported the same denial, attributing it to a representative speaking to The Hollywood Reporter. ComingSoon also reported that the comment was not authentic, citing Deadline and sources close to Snoop Dogg.
The distinction is between outlets reporting a social-media comment as his and outlets relaying a representative’s denial. The available accounts do not independently authenticate the original post or settle the disagreement. Accordingly, the reported “My bad” wording should not be treated as a confirmed apology.
