The injury scare most clearly documented under that event name happened a year earlier: on July 12, 2025, Rollins appeared to hurt his knee during a match with LA Knight. WWE’s recap of the July 18, 2026 event lists Rollins competing but does not report a new injury.
What happened to Seth Rollins at Saturday Night’s Main Event?
On July 12, 2025, Rollins faced LA Knight at Saturday Night’s Main Event. He appeared to tweak his knee after an awkward landing from a springboard move, and the match ended shortly afterward. F4W/WON’s contemporaneous report attributed its account to Bryan Alvarez; Sports Illustrated also summarized the sequence.
Alvarez said on Wrestling Observer Radio that Rollins was injured and that it “appears to be serious.” He also reported that the show’s final 40 minutes were changed. That was a reporter’s assessment of what appeared to happen, not a confirmed medical diagnosis.
Was there a new injury at the 2026 event?
The available evidence does not confirm one. WWE’s July 18, 2026 results list Rollins in a tag match with Tyrese Haliburton against Roman Reigns and Jalen Brunson, but do not mention a new injury. The recap establishes that he was listed as competing; its silence about an injury is not proof of his medical condition.

Separately, a September 28, 2026 report about Rollins’ absence said he was not currently nursing an injury. It quoted him telling ESPN Chicago: “I’m just taking my time right now, kind of focusing on other things, and at the end of the day, you know, I’ll come back when the time’s right.” Bleacher Report’s account is secondary coverage of that interview, not a WWE medical bulletin.
What did WWE say about the 2025 injury scare?
WWE published a video identifying a medical update from Chief Content Officer Paul “Triple H” Levesque after the 2025 incident. The official WWE video confirms that an update was issued, but its search-result text does not state a diagnosis. Without the video’s medical details, it would be inaccurate to present Alvarez’s report or the apparent knee issue as a confirmed diagnosis.

How to read the reports
- Event and date: The clearly reported knee scare took place at the July 12, 2025 event; the 2026 recap concerns a later show.
- Source type: WWE’s update is the official source for the fact an update was released. The injury description and seriousness assessment came from Alvarez’s reporting.
- What is established: Rollins appeared to land awkwardly, the 2025 match ended soon after, and a reporter said the show’s closing plans changed. The supplied accounts do not establish a diagnosis.
- Current-status context: September 2026 coverage described Rollins as not currently injured and quoted him saying he would return when the time was right; that is not a WWE medical announcement.
