There is no confirmation in Netflix’s official event materials that it paid £10m to stage or secure Jake Paul vs Anthony Joshua. The fight did take place in Miami on December 19, 2025, and Joshua won by sixth-round knockout. Netflix reported a 33 million global average-minute audience for the event, but that figure is not evidence of what the company paid.
What is confirmed about the fight?
Netflix’s event listing describes a sanctioned professional heavyweight bout at Miami’s Kaseya Center on Friday, December 19, 2025. It was scheduled for eight three-minute rounds, with 10-ounce gloves. Netflix’s event listing

Where does the £10m claim come from?
The official Netflix event materials reviewed do not disclose a £10m payment for this bout. They also do not establish the rights fee, individual fighter purses or other commercial terms. That means the specific claim that Netflix paid £10m to make this fight happen is unverified, rather than a confirmed payment.

What Netflix said about the audience
Netflix reported 33 million global viewers as the event’s estimated Live+1 average-minute audience from opening to closing bell, with the estimate attributed to VideoAmp and Netflix. Average-minute audience is not the same as unique viewers or total reach, so the figure should not be presented as either.

What the event’s success does—and does not—show
Netflix and the promoter said the event set a record for the highest-grossing boxing gate in Kaseya Center history, but neither source stated the gate amount. The promoter’s description is a claim about ticket sales at that venue, not a disclosure of Netflix’s payment. Netflix’s event report · Promoter’s release
Large reported audience figures and a venue gate record can establish that the event attracted substantial attention. They do not identify how much Netflix paid, who received a payment, or whether a particular £10m figure was involved. Those commercial terms are not disclosed in the cited official materials.
