There is no evidence in the available reporting that Monica Horan struggled to find work after Everybody Loves Raymond. Her documented post-series credits show a hiatus followed by occasional guest roles through 2021, but credits alone cannot tell us whether she wanted more work or had difficulty getting hired.
What Monica Horan did after Everybody Loves Raymond
TVLine’s retrospective reports that Horan took a hiatus after the sitcom ended, then appeared as a guest on several television shows between 2011 and 2021. Those credits included Hot in Cleveland, The Middle, and Better Things, as well as several episodes of The Bold and the Beautiful. For her work on the daytime drama, she received a Daytime Emmy nomination for Outstanding Special Guest Performer in a Drama Series. TVLine’s cast retrospective identifies 2021 as her latest acting year at the time it was published.
This is a pattern of intermittent acting work, not proof of a failed job search. A list of credits cannot establish how many roles Horan pursued, what work she wanted, or whether she turned down opportunities.
How her career led to the role of Amy
Horan had acting credits before Everybody Loves Raymond, including appearances in L.A. Law, General Hospital, Down the Shore, Coach, In Living Color, and In the House. In a Television Academy interview conducted April 13, 2005, she discussed theater, commercial work, testing for pilots, and her decision to leave acting.

#1 Best Overall
According to TV Insider’s career profile, Amy began as a planned one-off guest role in 1998, became recurring, and Horan was formally added to the cast after Amy married Robert in 2003. That history establishes how the part expanded; it does not explain her later career choices.

The sources do not say why Horan took a hiatus, whether she actively sought additional roles, or why she has not appeared in acting credits after 2021. They also do not establish whether personal priorities affected her choices. It would be inaccurate to infer from the gaps between credits that she could not find work.
So the careful answer is: Horan did continue acting after Everybody Loves Raymond, though selectively, and the published information cited here does not show that she struggled to get hired. The 2021 date is the latest acting year reported by TVLine, not a claim that no later credit can exist.
