The answer depends on the specific performance, song, and recording: official sources verify concert dates and releases, but they do not document which lead vocals were sung live and which, if any, used playback. The available sources do not establish a reliable percentage for Jackson’s concerts as a whole.
Why the answer depends on the performance
“Michael Jackson’s concerts” covers different tours, dates, venues, and recordings. A tour archive can establish that a show took place, while a concert film or album identifies a particular release. Neither fact alone tells you how a specific song’s lead vocal was performed.

To assess a lip-sync claim responsibly, you need evidence tied to the exact show and song, along with the recording’s provenance and whether its audio permits a distinction between live lead vocals and backing playback. The sources available here do not provide that song-by-song documentation or a basis for ranking tours by playback use.
What the Wembley recording establishes—and what it does not
A specific concert with a documented release history
The Michael Jackson Official Site lists Live at Wembley July 16, 1988 in its catalog as part of the Bad 25 material. The site also promoted the entire Wembley concert, recorded on July 16, 1988, as a BAD World Tour performance. #1 Best Overall
Apple Music describes the recording as footage from Jackson’s first solo tour, which began in September 1987 in support of Bad. Apple Music: Michael Jackson Live At Wembley July 16, 1988
The Estate statement is about source material, not every vocal
An Estate statement reproduced by MJSTAR says the July 16 Wembley footage was selected for the Bad 25 concert DVD and that Wembley audio was the only audio suitable for creating a live album. That is useful information about the release’s source recording and selection. It does not declare that every lead vocal in the concert recording was live, so it cannot by itself settle the lip-sync question. MJSTAR: Estate statement on the Wembley concert

The Wembley DVD is therefore a concrete recording to examine if you want to consider a dated performance. Its release identity and provenance do not make it conclusive proof of the vocal method used in every song.
Tour dates do not establish vocal technique
The official archive lists a Dangerous World Tour performance at Wembley Stadium in London on July 30, 1992, and a HIStory World Tour performance at Olympic Stadium in Munich on July 6, 1997. Those listings confirm the dates and venues; they do not say whether a particular song used live lead vocals or playback. Why This Is It is not proof about a completed concert
Sony Pictures describes This Is It as a behind-the-scenes film based on more than one hundred hours of footage showing rehearsals for the planned O2 Arena concerts, with footage spanning April through June 2009. That establishes rehearsal context, not how a completed concert would have sounded. Rehearsal footage should not be treated as a recording of a finished show. What can be concluded
- The documented material identifies particular concerts and recordings, not one vocal arrangement for Jackson’s entire concert career.
- The July 16, 1988 Wembley release is a specific, cataloged concert recording, but its release history does not establish the vocal method for every song.
- The cited tour listings confirm dates and venues, not whether individual songs were sung live or used playback.
- The sources do not establish a reliable percentage of concerts or songs that used playback.
