It asked which games respondents would like to see remade. Producer Noriaki Okamura later said the next project had not been decided and could be either a remake or something new.
What Konami’s survey asked
Reporting on the Metal Gear Production Hotline at Tokyo Game Show 2025 described a multi-select question: “Please select all of the following Metal Gear series titles that you would like to see remade.” Because respondents could select all that applied, it was a preference question, not a vote to pick one winner.

Push Square reported the question and its wording; PC Gamer also reported the “Other” option. Neither report provides published vote totals, percentages, or a ranked winner, so there is no substantiated answer to which game “won.” The survey also asked what viewers wanted from future broadcasts, including information about Master Collection Vol. 2 and other series developments. Has Konami decided what comes next?
In later interview coverage, PC Gamer quoted producer Noriaki Okamura saying, “the next project hasn’t been decided yet.” He described a remake and a new project as possibilities, not commitments. He also said the approach to any remake should suit the particular game rather than automatically repeat the method used for Delta. What is confirmed: Metal Gear Solid Delta
Konami announced METAL GEAR SOLID Δ: SNAKE EATER on May 24, 2023, describing it as a faithful remake of Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater, originally released in 2004. The announcement named PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Steam. This is an established remake; it is not evidence that another one is underway. Konami’s announcement

How to tell a fan survey from an official announcement
A survey can tell a publisher what players hope to see. It does not, by itself, establish that a game has been approved, entered development, or received a release window. KONAMI Games Support says it cannot reveal details about future games and releases that have not been made official by Konami. Treat a future title as confirmed only when Konami makes an official announcement, rather than inferring a production plan from a poll or a question about future broadcasts. KONAMI Games Support

Konami’s August 3, 2026 PAX West announcement said METAL GEAR SOLID: MASTER COLLECTION Vol.2 would release on August 27, 2026 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, and Steam, and highlighted Metal Gear Solid 4 in the collection’s event presence. The announced release date has passed; the announcement establishes what Konami said, not current store stock or the collection’s detailed contents. A collection release and a remake are different kinds of projects, so this announcement does not confirm a new remake. Konami’s PAX West announcement
