Did Kim Kardashian Graduate From Law School? What Her Six-Year Milestone Means

Kim Kardashian celebrated completing a six-year California law-office apprenticeship in May 2025. It made her eligible for the bar exam, not a licensed lawyer.

Kim Kardashian completed six years of California law-office study and celebrated in May 2025, but she did not graduate from a conventional law school or become a lawyer at the ceremony. Her milestone made her eligible to take the California bar exam; passing the exam and being admitted to practice are separate steps.

What Kim Kardashian completed in May 2025

Kardashian marked the occasion at a small private ceremony at the Beverly Hills Hotel on May 21, 2025. The Associated Press reported that her representative confirmed she had completed a legal apprenticeship and was eligible to take California’s bar exam. Kardashian described the moment on Instagram as, “I finally graduated law school after six years!!!” That was her wording for completing the program, not evidence that she earned a conventional law degree. The Associated Press’s May 22, 2025 report covered the event and her representative’s confirmation.

Jessica Jackson, the lawyer who mentored Kardashian, said in a speech, “Six years ago, Kim Kardashian walked into this program with nothing but a fierce desire to fight for justice,” according to AP’s account of the video. AP also reported Jackson calling the journey “one of the most inspiring legal journeys we’ve ever seen.”

How California law-office study differs from law school

California permits aspiring lawyers to pursue legal study in a law office or judge’s chambers as an alternative to conventional law-school attendance. This is a state-specific education pathway with a supervising lawyer or judge; completing it is not the same as earning a Juris Doctor (JD). The State Bar of California’s law-office study page describes the pathway and its requirements. Those requirements can change, so consult the State Bar’s current rules for details.

Jackson told AP that Kardashian studied 18 hours a week, 48 weeks a year, for six years. That schedule is a mentor’s reported account, not an independently audited time record or a general description of every participant’s program.

Study completion is not the same as becoming a lawyer

The milestones matter because completing an education route does not itself confer a license to practice. Kardashian’s representative confirmed eligibility to take the California bar exam after her apprenticeship; that confirmation did not mean she had passed the exam or been admitted to practice.

  1. Complete the study pathway: Kardashian celebrated completion of her California law-office apprenticeship in May 2025.
  2. Qualify to sit for the exam: Her representative said she was eligible to take the California bar exam.
  3. Pass the exam: This is a separate requirement; eligibility alone does not establish a passing result.
  4. Receive admission to practice: Passing the exam is not, by itself, the same as formal admission to the bar.

What is known about her bar-exam result

A November 9, 2025 Daily Beast report said Kardashian did not pass the July 2025 California bar exam. The available reporting here does not establish a primary statement or a later official status, so that result should be attributed to the outlet rather than treated as a current, independently confirmed account of her status. The Daily Beast report is the cited account.
