Yes—Jussie Smollett has described making The Mighty Ducks as “a great experience.” A separate recollection from a 2018 interview offers one glimpse of what stayed with him from filming, though neither source establishes how he felt about every part of the production.
What did Jussie Smollett say about making the film?
Smollett is quoted as saying, “’Mighty Ducks’ was a great experience, and I don’t shy away from that.” The line is attributed to him on BrainyQuote, which does not identify the original interview or give a publication date. It is evidence of a positive overall description, but its provenance cannot be traced further from that page.

What did he remember from filming?
In a 2018 Associated Press interview, Smollett recalled performing at Prince’s Minneapolis nightclub while he was filming the movie at age nine. That anecdote gives a specific memory associated with the production; it does not tell us how he regarded every aspect of the shoot. The interview appeared on Yahoo, which hosts the AP article: the AP interview page.
Which role did Smollett play?
Smollett played Terry Hall in The Mighty Ducks, the 1992 film that AFI Catalog identifies as his theatrically released feature-film debut. AFI lists the film’s release date as October 2, 1992. Its production history records principal photography beginning January 22, 1992, in Minnesota; those dates establish the film’s timeline, not Smollett’s personal feelings about the work.
