No. Jenna Ortega says she appeared briefly in Iron Man 3 as the vice president’s daughter, but her lines were cut. That small 2013 appearance is not a major MCU role, and it does not confirm reports or speculation about a future Marvel casting.
What was Jenna Ortega’s role in Iron Man 3?
Ortega described the part in an Entertainment Tonight interview reported by The Independent on March 16, 2025. She said she played the vice president’s daughter, appeared on screen only briefly, and had all her lines removed. In her words: “They took all my lines out. I’m in Iron Man 3 for a quick second.”
She added that her name was removed from the credits: “They even took my name away. I count that, then I move on.” Her description is the clearest evidence here of the size of the role; it was a brief appearance, not a substantial character part.
Why is the headline calling it a major MCU role?
The wording overstates the documented appearance. Marvel’s official Iron Man 3 page identifies the film as a 2013 release but does not list Ortega among its featured characters. That page is not a complete cast-credit listing, so its omission alone does not settle whether she appeared. Ortega’s own account confirms that she did, while also making clear how brief the appearance was.

Her later prominence may help explain the connection: Netflix Tudum’s May 20, 2026 profile identifies her as the star of Wednesday. That career visibility does not change what she says happened in Iron Man 3.
Has Marvel confirmed a major role for Ortega in the future?
No official announcement confirming a later major MCU role appears in the sources available for this article. Paul Rudd, who was with Ortega in the interview, speculated that Marvel might bring her back, saying, “Marvel is very good at like, kind of laying those bread crumbs.” That was Rudd’s speculation, not a casting announcement from Marvel.

Accordingly, keep the two claims separate: Ortega has a documented, brief Iron Man 3 appearance; a future major role is unconfirmed. Casting news can change, so a later official announcement would be new information rather than proof that her earlier part was major.
