Hyunjin’s reported comments point to a past period when vocal difficulty left him frustrated and unsure he could continue—not a confirmed decision to leave Stray Kids. The account available is an unofficial translation, so its exact wording and context should be treated cautiously.
Why did Hyunjin reportedly think about leaving?
The remarks are tied to a difficult period with his voice. An unofficial fan-translated repost attributes to Hyunjin the thought that his voice was not coming out and that it might be “over” for him. Billboard Brasil also published a report about his vocal problems and a difficult period in Stray Kids, while TechnoSports linked the comments to the group’s DominATE: CelebrATE encore concert on October 19, 2025. These reports support the broad context, but they do not verify the exact words he used.

The translated account also says Hyunjin wanted to remain part of Stray Kids. It credits support from the members and fans, as well as help from Seungmin and a vocal coach, with helping him continue. Read together, the remarks describe a moment of doubt and support—not an announcement that he had decided to depart.
What is—and is not—verified about the voice problem?
The available account describes vocal difficulty and frustration, but it does not establish a medical diagnosis, a specific injury, or the cause of the problem. TechnoSports likewise does not establish that medical context. The exact original-language wording has not been verified against a primary recording or official translation; the circulated version is an unofficial translation and may reflect translation choices.

Was this the same as Hyunjin’s 2021 hiatus?
No. In February 2021, JYP said Hyunjin would halt entertainment activities and take time for self-reflection, in a statement reproduced by Soompi. That statement described a pause in activities, not a departure from Stray Kids. It is separate from the later account about vocal difficulty and should not be treated as the reason for those remarks.

The most careful reading is that Hyunjin reportedly described feeling unable to continue during a hard period with his voice, while also wanting to stay in the group and receiving support. The claim that he “considered leaving” is a shorthand for that reported doubt, not proof of a formal exit plan or a current announcement. A later W Korea interview reflects on Stray Kids’ history and songs, but does not verify why he had those voice-related doubts.
