No. A Gizmodo report said Elon Musk described the X account @ermnmusk as a “test account” he had “briefly used.” The account’s childlike posts prompted the toddler-roleplay framing, but the reported remarks do not confirm the account’s motive or that the behavior lasted for years.
What Musk reportedly said about @ermnmusk
In a story published April 9, 2024, Gizmodo reported on a deposition Musk gave on March 28. The deposition, which Gizmodo said had become public in April, included questions about alternate X accounts. According to the outlet, Musk called @ermnmusk a “test account” he “briefly used.” Those are the short phrases Gizmodo attributed to him; the deposition transcript has not been independently verified here.
That reported description establishes that the account came up in the deposition and that Musk characterized it as a test account he used briefly. It does not, by itself, establish who operated the account at every point, why it was used, or how long any particular persona was maintained.
Why the story used a toddler-roleplay framing
Gizmodo connected @ermnmusk to posts written in the voice of a young child, including a post it reported as saying, “I will finally turn 3 on May 4th!” That material explains the outlet’s characterization of the account as presenting a childlike persona. A post in that voice is evidence of how the account presented itself, not proof of its operator’s intent or an admission by Musk that he had roleplayed as a toddler for years.
#1 Best Overall
The headline’s words “confirms” and “for years” go beyond the short description attributed to Musk. The report does not establish the duration implied by “for years,” nor does the cited testimony confirm the headline’s interpretation of the account’s posts.
What the deposition was about
Gizmodo placed the alternate-account questions within a broader deposition concerning Musk’s use of X. The deposition was related to a lawsuit brought by Ben Brody, who alleged that Musk amplified claims connecting him to a neo-Nazi rally. Those are allegations described in the report, not findings established by the account discussion or this article.

The report also mentioned a second account name transcribed as “baby smoke 9,000” and suggested it might refer to @babysmurf9000. That identification was presented as a possibility, not a confirmed attribution.
