The cited coverage contains no explanation from Savage himself. In February 2025, Friedle said on the Pod Meets World rewatch podcast that Savage would not speak with him, and described a conversation that ended when Savage “bailed.” E! What have Fishel and Friedle said happened?
They described a disappearance, not a known cause
In a 2023 interview, Fishel said Savage had “ghosted” the group. Friedle said he wished he knew why, adding: “We didn’t have a fight. There’s no falling out. There was no animosity.” He also described trying to reach Savage for weeks or months. Fishel said she still loved him and hoped their story was not over. Those statements make clear that the former co-stars were describing their own understanding; “ghosted” is their characterization, not independent confirmation of Savage’s motive. TVLine
They continued to express hope of reconnecting
A June 2026 report recounting a People interview said Friedle still hoped Savage would return to their lives, saying, “I haven’t given up on my friend.” Fishel said she understood if Savage did not want to take part in their rewatch podcast, while also missing their former closeness. Did the rewatch podcast cause a falling out?
The available reporting does not establish that it did. Fishel, Friedle, and Rider Strong launched Pod Meets World in 2022; Savage did not join. But declining to participate is not evidence that the podcast caused the loss of contact. In a June 2026 account of the documentary Doc Meets World, Strong recalled that the former co-stars remained on friendly terms after Savage declined the podcast, and that they later found they could not reach him.
