The series is Netflix’s animated adaptation of Capcom’s Devil May Cry game franchise. Netflix describes Season 2 as a war between worlds, with Dante forced to confront his estranged twin Vergil and his feelings about the family he lost. The series is led by showrunner Adi Shankar and animated by Studio Mir.
Will there be a Devil May Cry Season 3?
Yes. Netflix has confirmed that the series will return for a third and final season. Capcom’s June 10, 2026 announcement also describes Season 3 as the “final chapter.” The official pages cited here do not announce a premiere date, so there is no confirmed date or release window to report.

Capcom reported 6.4 million views for Season 2 in its first two weeks and 21.7 million views for Season 1 in 2025; the company also said the series appeared in Netflix’s Global Top 10 for four weeks across the two seasons. What happens to Dante and Vergil?
In the recap’s account, Argus fuses with the demon Argosax. Dante and Vergil send Argus through a rift to hell, but Mundus kills Argosax, leaving the portal open and Earth exposed. Vergil stays in the demon realm to fight Mundus. Dante is forced back through the rift, carrying Sparda’s sword, and returns to Earth.
What does Lady discover?
The recap says Lady sees DARKCOM footage revealing that her father is alive and has been operating as the demon jester in Mundus’ court. That discovery gives her own story a new unresolved thread alongside the conflict between the twins.

Which cliffhanger questions remain open?
- How will Vergil’s fight with Mundus end?
- Will Mundus’ forces invade Earth through the open portal?
- Will Dante and Vergil reunite, and under what circumstances?
- How will Lady respond to learning what her father has been doing?
Those are questions left by the finale, not announced Season 3 plot points. Netflix’s official Season 2 setup focuses on the twins’ conflict; it does not confirm how the final season will resolve these threads.
