Detained is a 2024 crime and mystery thriller starring Abbie Cornish as Rebecca Kamen, a woman who wakes in a run-down police station with no memory of how she got there. When detectives accuse her of a hit-and-run, she begins to suspect that the station and the people inside it are part of a larger trap.
What is Detained about?
Rebecca wakes overnight in a dilapidated police station unable to account for her arrival. Detectives Avery and Moon question her about an alleged hit-and-run. A violent encounter heightens the danger, and Rebecca starts to doubt that the station’s apparent police operation is what it seems. The film builds its suspense around her uncertain memory, the people held there and who is directing events; that is the spoiler-light setup.
