These names form an editorial shortlist, not an objectively ranked top five.
1. Niall Horan
The singer and former One Direction member has spoken openly about supporting Derby County. In a BBC Sport report published on 18 August 2025, after Derby’s 5–3 match against Coventry, Horan said: “I just love Derby County.” BBC Sport reported his comments.
Derby County has described Horan as a lifelong Rams fan and covered his visits to the club and its training camp. The club’s 2021 feature offers a longer account of his connection.
2. Robert Lindsay
Actor Robert Lindsay is another prominent supporter with a clearly documented, long-standing connection to the club. Derby County described him as a lifelong fan in a 2019 interview, in which he said: “I am a Derby man through and through.” Read the club’s interview with Lindsay.

3. Jack O’Connell
Actor Jack O’Connell’s enthusiasm for Derby County was the starting point for a reported connection between the Rams and George Clooney. In 2015, ITV News Central reported that O’Connell’s support rubbed off on his co-star. ITV News Central covered the story.
4. George Clooney
Clooney belongs on a cautious list of celebrity figures associated with Derby because of that report about O’Connell’s influence. The evidence supports describing him as having developed an interest in the club; it does not establish the same lifelong-supporter connection documented for Horan and Lindsay.

5. Graham Coxon

That listing is not independently confirmed by the sources cited here, so his inclusion should be treated as a reported association rather than a firmly established claim. The Derby County entry on Wikipedia is the source for that listing.

“Most famous” is a subjective label, not an official ranking. This selection balances public prominence with the strength and depth of the available evidence: direct statements and club coverage make Horan and Lindsay the clearest examples, while O’Connell and Clooney are linked by ITV’s reporting, and Coxon’s association rests on a secondary list.
