A defensible selection includes internationally known singer Niall Horan and actor Robert Lindsay, whose support is directly documented, alongside several other public figures and long-time fans. The names below are selected for public recognition and available evidence of their connection to the Rams—not ranked by a measured fame score.
Who supports Derby County?
These six names span celebrity fans and a locally celebrated supporter. The evidence is strongest for Niall Horan and Robert Lindsay, who have spoken publicly about their support. Claims about Jack O’Connell, Tim Brooke-Taylor and Kevin Lloyd come from a compiled secondary list, while Derek Eley is known for his long-standing local connection to the club.
Famous Derby County supporters
Niall Horan
The former One Direction singer is the most internationally recognizable name on this list. Derby County has described Horan as a lifelong supporter, and its 2021 feature reported that he visited the club’s training ground and took part in the launch of its third kit. Derby County’s feature on Horan documents those connections.
After Derby lost 5–3 to Coventry, Horan told BBC Sport on 18 August 2025: “I get very emotional being at Pride Park, I just love this place. I love the ground, I love the vibe it gives off. I just love Derby County.” BBC Sport reported his comments.

Robert Lindsay
The actor, known for roles in television and theatre, has described himself as a lifelong, proud Derby fan. In a 2019 interview with the club, Lindsay recalled inheriting his support from his father, attending the opening of Pride Park and holding a season ticket for the ground’s first two years. He also provided the voice for “Steve Bloomer’s Watchin’,” played on matchdays.
“I don’t get to see Derby and come up to Pride Park as much as I’d like to, mainly owing to work, but I follow them all the time wherever I am,” Lindsay said. Read Derby County’s interview with Lindsay.

Jack O’Connell
Actor Jack O’Connell is described in a compiled list of celebrity supporters as a lifelong Rams fan who was born near Derby. That is a secondary-source claim rather than a direct statement in the material available here, so it is best treated as an attributed report, not independently confirmed biographical fact.
Tim Brooke-Taylor
The late comedian Tim Brooke-Taylor is also named as a Derby County supporter in the same compiled list. The list does not establish an honorary vice-presidency, so that claim should not be presented as fact.
Kevin Lloyd
Actor Kevin Lloyd, remembered for playing Tosh Lines in The Bill, is described by the compiled list as a lifelong Rams fan. Lloyd died in 1998; the supporter claim is attributed to that secondary list.
Derek Eley
Derek Eley belongs to a different category from the celebrity names. In a December 2020 profile, Derby County called the then 103-year-old supporter “Mr. Derby County” and recounted his decades of following the club. That profile establishes local supporter renown and longevity, rather than national celebrity status. See the club’s profile of Eley.

How to read this selection
“Most famous” is subjective: the available sources do not publish a statistical ranking of Derby County supporters. Horan and Lindsay have the clearest direct documentation here; the other names should be understood in light of their distinct evidence, including secondary-list attribution or local recognition. The selection is therefore a guide to notable supporters, not a definitive order of fame.
