For a first watch, follow the main story in release order: Unwavering Resolve, one version of Mugen Train, Entertainment District, Swordsmith Village, Hashira Training, then Infinity Castle I. The story arcs also follow this sequence, so there is no separate timeline shuffle to make. At Mugen Train, pick the film or the seven-episode TV version rather than watching both back to back.
What order should you watch Demon Slayer in?
- Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba — Unwavering Resolve Arc (Season 1, 2019; 26 episodes).
- Mugen Train (2020 film) or Mugen Train Arc (2021 TV version; 7 episodes).
- Entertainment District Arc (2021–22; 11 episodes).
- Swordsmith Village Arc (2023; 11 episodes).
- Hashira Training Arc (2024; 8 episodes).
- Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Infinity Castle I (2025 theatrical release; the first film in an announced trilogy).

Chronological order versus release order
For the main anime story, chronological and release order are the same practical choice: watch the arcs in the sequence above. The franchise’s official English listings place the installments in that order, and the official Japanese story index groups the episode summaries by the same five TV arcs. There is no need to rearrange the main arcs for a first viewing.
The theatrical events To the Swordsmith Village (2023) and To the Hashira Training (2024) are not additional full seasons. They were world-tour screenings combining the end of the preceding arc with the next arc’s premiere. If you watch the complete TV arcs, you can skip these screenings. Should you watch the Mugen Train movie or episodes?
Choose one version at the point shown in the order. Both adapt the Mugen Train story segment, but the seven-episode TV version adds an introductory episode before the adapted events. Watching the film and then all seven episodes repeats much of the same story.

Where Infinity Castle I fits—and what is known about the next films
Infinity Castle I follows Hashira Training and is the first film in an announced trilogy. It had a theatrical release in 2025. The next two films are part of the announced trilogy, but the sources cited here do not establish their release dates. Official English franchise site.

Streaming catalogs vary by country and change. Netflix Tudum reported on September 28, 2026, that Infinity Castle I was streaming on Netflix; the official English site’s news index announced that the film was coming to Crunchyroll and digital on July 28, 2026. Those announcements do not guarantee access in every territory, so check the service’s local catalog for the exact title. Netflix Tudum; Official English site news.
The official Japanese streaming index lists services for titles in Japan, including Netflix and Prime Video on some listings, and says the Mugen Train film began streaming in Japan on July 2, 2025.
