Both combine Goku and Vegeta, but they come from different fusion methods, appear in different stories and forms, and have never fought under directly comparable conditions in official material. The most accurate answer depends on the continuity, transformation, battle conditions and evidence being compared.
Gogeta and Vegito use different fusion methods
Gogeta is created through the normal Fusion technique, while Vegito is created when Goku and Vegeta use Supreme Kai Potara Earrings. An official Dragon Ball fusion feature describes normal Fusion as lasting 30 minutes and Potara fusion for people other than Supreme Kais as lasting one hour. Potara is also described as an instant fusion method, unlike the Fusion technique.

Those durations describe how long each fusion normally lasts; they do not provide a power multiplier or prove that one warrior is inherently stronger.
Why the official evidence does not settle the matchup
No direct Gogeta-versus-Vegito fight
The official material reviewed contains no matched fight between Gogeta and Vegito and no comparable numeric power levels for them. A feat against a particular opponent therefore cannot, by itself, rank one fusion above the other.

Different continuities must stay separate
Dragon Ball Z, Dragon Ball GT and Dragon Ball Super portray versions of these characters in different story settings. A GT Gogeta appearance should not be silently treated as evidence for Super-era Gogeta, and a Z or Super Vegito scene should not automatically establish the strength of every other version.
Forms matter
“Gogeta” and “Vegito” are not single, fixed power states. Any serious comparison must name the transformation being discussed. Super Saiyan God SS Gogeta in Dragon Ball Super: Broly, for example, is a specific Super-era form and cannot be used as an unqualified measurement of every Gogeta portrayal.

What Dragon Ball Super: Broly shows about Gogeta
The official Dragon Ball character feature for Dragon Ball Super: Broly describes Broly overpowering Goku and Vegeta through earlier stages before reaching Super Saiyan Full Power. After Goku and Vegeta fuse, Super Saiyan God SS Gogeta battles Broly. At the climax, Broly appears close to defeat, but Cheelai uses the Dragon Balls to return him to Vampa.
This is strong evidence for how Gogeta is portrayed in that film: he gains the upper hand against that version of Broly. It is not a direct comparison with Vegito, because Vegito is not part of that fight and the story supplies no conversion between Broly’s performance and a Vegito ranking.

A fair way to compare them
1. Match the continuity
Compare Z with Z, GT with GT, or Super with Super where the material permits. Label crossover comparisons explicitly instead of treating all appearances as one continuous scale.
2. Match the transformation
State the exact forms, such as Super Saiyan God SS Gogeta, rather than comparing base names alone.

3. Record the fusion conditions
Include the stated 30-minute Fusion duration or one-hour non-Supreme-Kai Potara duration when time is relevant. A longer available window can matter in a hypothetical battle, but duration is not a measurement of attack power.
4. Separate feats from interpretation
An official story event is evidence of that story’s portrayal. Fan calculations, video-game abilities, trading-card mechanics and speculative multipliers are interpretations unless an official source confirms them.

5. Require a linked comparison
To declare one fusion stronger, a story would need to connect their performances directly or provide a reliable shared scale. The official sources reviewed provide neither a direct bout nor a numeric Gogeta-versus-Vegito measurement.

- Not established: A universal power ranking that places Gogeta above Vegito or Vegito above Gogeta in every continuity and form.
- Not established: A numeric multiplier that converts one fusion’s feats into the other’s power.
Verdict
If the question means “Which one is always more powerful?”, the official answer is undetermined. If it means “Which fusion has the longer stated default duration?”, Vegito’s Potara fusion lasts one hour for non-Supreme-Kai users, compared with 30 minutes for normal Fusion. If it means “Which fusion is portrayed winning a particular battle?”, Super Saiyan God SS Gogeta is shown nearing victory over Super Saiyan Full Power Broly in Dragon Ball Super: Broly. Neither point establishes a universal winner over every version of Vegito.
