Carbon monoxide is odorless, colorless and tasteless, according to firefighters quoted by 6abc. New Hope Eagle Fire Company Deputy Chief Mark Nissenfeld advised keeping heating equipment, appliances, fireplaces, water heaters and chimneys in good working order, and having at least one working carbon monoxide detector in the house. This general safety advice does not establish what would have prevented the incident at Haddon’s property. 6abc’s report quoting Deputy Chief Mark Nissenfeld
