Danielle Spencer reportedly shared a photograph of Russell Crowe with their sons, Charles and Tennyson, at Rome’s Trevi Fountain. PerthNow reported the post on January 6, 2024, and gave Spencer’s caption as: “My lads and their Dad! Love this photo.”
What the reported photo showed
According to PerthNow’s January 6, 2024 report, the image showed Crowe with Charles and Tennyson at the Trevi Fountain in Rome. The report reproduced Spencer’s caption: “My lads and their Dad! Love this photo.” The original social-media post was not independently accessed, so its setting and wording are attributed here to PerthNow.
How this differs from Spencer’s 2023 post
The Trevi Fountain image is distinct from a photograph Spencer shared in April 2023. Yahoo described that earlier image as sepia-toned and reported her caption as: “Twenty years ago today, I married the father of my boys.” The different date, image description and caption identify it as a separate post, not the Rome photograph.
What was reported about the family
PerthNow reported that Crowe and Spencer separated in 2012 and divorced in 2018. Its account also attributed to Spencer an explanation that Crowe’s work travel and her efforts to keep the family together influenced her career decisions during their marriage. That account should not be read as establishing a sole cause of the separation.

A later, April 2026 Daily Beast report, summarizing an interview it attributed to The Sydney Morning Herald, said Spencer disputed the narrative that Crowe’s career and time away caused the breakup and described him as a loving father. These are comments reported secondhand; without the original interview and its fuller context, they do not establish a direct contradiction with the earlier account.
