How the finale played out
Each of the five finalist couples performed a redemption dance and a freestyle before the winner was announced. The show also reunited the Season 32 couples for an opening number. Mraz performed “I Feel Like Dancing” with professional dancers from the DWTS LIVE 2024 Tour, as ABC Audio reported.
ABC7 described the finale as a three-hour broadcast. The final result combined judges’ scores with viewer votes. ABC7’s recap says Gomez and Chmerkovskiy had the highest judges’ score and received the most fan votes; it does not publish vote totals or a detailed weighting formula. The same report notes that they earned perfect judges’ scores in their last four rounds of competition.
